Covidscape 1

Cynthia Yachtman

So heavily influenced by COVID this past year, I found myself looking to and appreciating nature even more, and using it as an inspiration in my artwork. Bringing nature indoors especially during those times when I found myself forced to stay inside, I found myself taking a foray into landscape painting and thoroughly enjoying it.

I painted Covidscape 1 on a 24” square canvas using acrylic paint, ink, and latex house paint. I used brushes and rags and added in physical materials into the paint (pumice, sand, etc.) to create the heavily textured surface.
