Welcome to our latest issue: Cohesion: Bugs, Soil, and Fungus!
The insects and fungus in, on, and under the soils are vital to our continued existence. Yet those organisms are facing extinction because of ecosystem contamination, environmental degradation, and climate change. In South Africa, signs are posted along highways to warn drivers to protect dung beetle habitat and pathways. In the United States, the rusty patched bumblebee, a major pollinator, is now officially listed as endangered. Our latest issue, Cohesion, aims to illuminate these often forgotten kingdoms and attempts to show how interwoven, connected, and dependent humans are on them.
