This pen drawing, on paper, was inspired from a big horn sheep skull that I found while backpacking in Joshua Tree National Park in the winter of 2016. The original skull was missing a horn, and the one that was attached had almost completed a full circle in its growth – symbolizing the sheep's old age before death. The image of the skull stuck with me, and I wanted to create something that would convey the peaceful, still emotion I felt when I discovered the skull.
