This piece was inspired by Katy’s fascination with the complex world of mycology, an interest that was sparked by her experiences growing and learning about mushrooms in the Non-Timber Forest Products class offered at Ithaca College.

Mantis

Insects are fascinating! I find all the different shapes and textures a wonderful challenge to capture in drawings.

Honeybee

Honeybees especially have caught my interest – not only because of the dangers they face as a species but also because of the consequences their struggles have for both society and the environment.
