Icarus Washed Ashore
Jennifer Weigel
Daedalus cradles his broken son’s body, feathers soaked with oil. The rig still looms in the distance, a greasy black stain upon the water.
The artist used motor oil on paper, and the work is based on images of the Deepwater Horizon spill.
